Creeping Fire

Minutes, hours passed

The sky gives a mercy break

Chasing down the pane

I watch the opal centre

Of transparency on a roll

A close thrum of heat

Warped air on plastic melt

Windows steamed with echoes

Not with talk or tangled frisson

Or lovers’ chancing twine

But silence laid on tongues tied

Thought breathed slowly out

Gazes burning sodden grey

Beyond the passing lights

Life moving metalled cosset

Feline eyes, to mirror mine

Hypnotic in their stare returned

Creeping fire in oil slick night

Cat’s eyes speak

My words to follow

“The sky gives a mercy break
    Chasing down the pane”
Jealous of these lines, wish I wrote them…
your style is so original, like the color pink, all smoky or something…

I think its excellent when a writer can develop their style. Yours is really out there. Billie Jo is at the same spot, sort of. she seems spot on this round, like you.
and the best thing about being a writer is you can always improve just by writing!

Absolutely! Taking risks, trying different ways of writing whilst maintaining a thread of a personal style within that experimenting. Thanks so much for your support xx

Interesting weaving of imagery in those short lines, each one holding another part of the whole.
