The Plain of Me

I dampen my resolve
Finger deep
Whirling, swirling
Dissolved like sugar
Foggy pale
Translucent pallor
Yet still compelled
To drop the colour
Free the words
And spill the velvet
Crimson drops
So all that’s left
This bowl of thoughts
Is this
The plain of me

It flows so beautifully. This sort of made me imagine standing over a fluid substance watching it swirl until all the colour drained out and all that was left was a bowl of typed phrases.

Then I could not help but think of the pensive in the Harry Potter novels.
