Tempest

Wind swept and beaten, skin white with cool

Bones chilled to their core, deep in an ache

Flooded by sky fall, eyes sting with shards of light

Rocking, a cavernous ocean, black as the night above

Sails weary, lost in the howl, bracing the raw

Yet comfort is found, a contrast to the elements

Cocooned in a shell, sweeping a milky hue

Untarnished by the crests, ridden with stoicism

There is tenderness released in the violent break

A steady grasp that brings equanimity close

An anchor, a hold, in this tempest that frees me

Your last three lines are my favorite with the juxtaposition of a storm and calmness.
