Bitter Taste

Bitter taste on bitter tongue

Words that roll with shards of sour

Breath tainted with self inflicted doubt

Twisted perceptions fill pallid cheeks

A tasteless, dissatisfying meal of mutterings

Your soul eaten whole with the stale you carry

Gain is futile in acrid swallows

You choke on your own vaporous self

I turn from you and your self pitying exhalations

You breathe toxicity, I will rise above

Dark, but I felt every line. Extremely well written, every line follows perfectly from the previous.

Obviously everyone writes the personal but great writing lends itself to others. I can identify with this, I feel it… If that makes sense.

    Brilliant as always.
