Liquid Fire

Standing still

Eyes extended, sockets strained

Liquid fire tears at my cheeks

Don’t you see it?

Perhaps you choose to ignore

The fury, the rage that consumes

Pale and shallow turns to crimson depths

Flames lick and taunt

Scorching, blistering as it engulfs

How long can I remain in this blur of humidity before it turns again?

Lay the blame, shirk the consequence

It’s what you do best

I’ll wait for now

Wrapped in the heat and suffocation

Soon though, soon…

Tortured, heated frustration and anger followed by pain. So well written. One of my favourites of yours. xxx

Definitely a sense of pain, which makes me very sad… Beautifully written though, with a majesty that is truly yours. Perhaps then end offers up some glimmer of hope?

    I hope it does…
